EFFECTS OF PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE

The main objective of this study was to assess the influence performance appraisal on employee in Kenya. This examined present condition assessment Kenya, using Kilifii County as a case study. impact work highlighted target population consisted all permanent workers Kilifi which included doctors, nurses, support staffs, administrative and management representatives researchers (KEMRI staffs working Hospital). research adopted census technique data collection researcher also used sampling for some groups respondents. involved 94 respondents includedi 4 39 27 18 6 representatives. Data done structured questionnaires interview guide collected analyzed by descriptive statistics uses Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS). instruments reliability tested correlation coefficient. then statistical analytical tools like frequency distribution multiple regression. qualitative transcribed arranged into several topics based study's aims. Frequency tables were illustrate data. results indicated that training had positive significant effect (β=0.170, p<0.05), Feedback mechanisms (β=0.263, Leadership style (β=0.231, p<0.05) compensation (β=0.213, p<0.05). concluded relevance objectives enables health attain required level performance. Communication between staff managers assists tracking over Employees prefer remunerative rewards asigood is observed rewarded, chances it being repeated are increased, while poor discouraged or even punished decrease chance happening again. recommended organizations should establish adopt systems would enable effectively employees therefore providing opportunities identifying needs, identify targets, improve helping time through planning setting deadlines.
